The American Fyre Designs GFRC cover is the hand-finished lid for an AFD firetable or fire bowl. It sits over the burner opening when the unit is not lit, so the burner, the igniter and the fire media stay out of the weather, and the top reads as a finished surface instead of an open fire pan. It is cast in the same glass-fiber reinforced concrete as the table and hand-applied in the same seven finishes, so it matches rather than merely covers.
This is a burner cover, not a full-unit wrap. It closes the opening. For over-the-whole-appliance protection through the winter, that is the vinyl protective cover, and plenty of owners keep both.
Why the GFRC cover
- Turns a firetable into a table. With the cover in place the top is a continuous usable surface for drinks, platters and centerpieces, which is most of what a fire table does when it is not lit.
- Finish-matched, not generic. Cast and hand-finished in the same seven AFD finishes as the units themselves, so it disappears into the top.
- Keeps water out of the burner. Standing water and debris in the burner pan are what corrode a burner, foul an igniter and shorten the life of the expensive parts.
- Same material, same weathering. GFRC is rated for permanent outdoor use, so the cover ages at the same rate as the unit instead of fading, tearing or chalking.
- One part per burner opening. Sized to the opening rather than the footprint, so a single part number covers several models.

Finishes
All five sizes are available in every American Fyre Designs finish. Standard finishes are White Aspen, Café Blanco, Black Lava and Smoke. Antique finishes are Travertine, Dark Basalt and Light Basalt. The full model number is the size prefix plus the finish code, so a Smoke cover for the Cosmopolitan Square Dining is 8123-SM.
American Fyre Designs products are individually handcrafted and the finishes are subject to slight texture and colour variation, which is what makes them look like stone rather than moulded plastic. Order the cover in the same finish as your unit.

What's included
- One GFRC cover in the selected size and finish
Choosing the right one
Match the cover to your unit model number, not to its overall dimensions. These covers are sized to the burner opening, which is why the Square cover fits both a 36 inch Cosmopolitan Square (640) and a 44 inch Contempo Square (784). Model numbers appear on the rating plate and on your original order.
Reclaimed wood tables take a different part. French Barrel Oak and Silver Pine units use the 8100-FO / -SP, 8110-FO / -SP, 8120-FO / -SP and 8123-FO / -SP covers, which we sell as a separate listing. The Voro (725, 726) and Fiesta Dining (775) have no reclaimed wood option and take the standard finishes above.
Long units take stainless steel rather than GFRC: the Iron Saddle Long (588), Legend Long (589) and Contempo Long LP Select (788) use the 8116-SS cover.
Also worth having
- Vinyl protective cover in the matching size, for full-unit coverage over winter or between seasons.
- Tempered glass wind guard, which keeps the flame tall and steady on an exposed patio.
Warranty
American Fyre Designs warrants its exterior GFRC fire features and accessories for three (3) years. All American Fyre Designs valves, burners, electrical components and controls (excluding batteries) are warranted for one (1) year. Wind guards, screens and batteries are excluded. The warranty does not cover damage caused by burning wood or any fuel other than the natural gas or propane the unit is configured for, or damage and discoloration caused by high wind conditions.
